The U.S. Navy Method for Body Fat Calculation

This calculator uses the U.S. Navy method to estimate body fat percentage. The formula is:

\[Body Fat \% = 495 / (1.0324 - 0.19077 \times \log_{10}(waist - neck) + 0.15456 \times \log_{10}(height)) - 450\]

Where:

  • Waist, neck, and height measurements are in centimeters
  • \(\log_{10}\) is the base-10 logarithm

How to Measure

  1. Waist: Measure horizontally around your navel (belly button) at the narrowest part of your waist.
  2. Neck: Measure around your neck just below the larynx (Adam's apple), keeping the tape horizontal.
